Hong Kong Well UK Advisory Service

If you are worried that your child under 18 has emotional needs; or if you are 16 or 17 years old and experiencing emotional distress, we are here to help you.

(1) Our team

Our case advisors with social work experience in Hong Kong are a group of volunteers, who have immigrated to the UK, just like you. They have joined HK Well UK to provide voluntary support to children and parents during this challenging new chapter.

(2) Our Service Recipients

Hong Kong families with children aged under 18 have been granted the British National (Overseas) Visa or British passport and migrated to the UK in June 2019 or after.

(3) What will we offer

You will speak to our volunteer case advisors. They will:

  • provide information on local mental wellbeing support services
  • render a step-by-step guide and tips on how to reach out for help with schools
  • refer to HK Well UK subsidized counselling/therapy service
  • provide contacts of local Cantonese speaking counsellors, therapists and psychologists
  • provide information on local special education needs and disabilities (SEND) support

  • Basic information of the applicant
  • Basic information of the child/teenager seeking support
  • Requested enquiry information
  • The behavioural or emotional issues of the child/teenager seeking support
  • Interpersonal relationships of the child/teenager seeking support
  • School adaptation and adaptation difficulties of the child/teenager seeking support
  • Special Education Needs of the child/teenager seeking support
  • Help seeking from other institutions
